At the age of 41, Mandla Maphumulo—also referred to as Mampintsha—was born in Umlazi, Durban, South Africa, on July 13, 1982.

He had been receiving speech and physical treatment, and he was making progress. His family, friends, admirers, and coworkers were shocked and saddened by his demise.
On December 28, 2022, he was laid to rest at Durban’s Heroes Acre Cemetery after receiving a state funeral.
